UMass-Amherst’s external relations director Tony Maroulis joining WD Cowls Land Company as vice president of Real Estate – masslive.com
AMHERST – University of Massachusetts-Amherst’s executive director of external relations, Tony Maroulis, has accepted a position at the WD Cowls Land Company as Vice President of Real Estate and Community Development, according to the company’s owner, Cinda Jones.
The announcement was made in a press release over the weekend.
“A respected regional leader in economic and community development, tourism, and the arts, Maroulis brings a well-rounded blend of experience to WD Cowls as it continues to develop and market The Mill District in North Amherst as a premier eats, arts, and entertainment destination,” the Cowls statement says.
Maroulis is expected to grow The Mill District brand, along with the company’s real estate and business portfolios.
“Now I have the chance to bring the vibe and grow an amazing place from the ground up,” Maroulis said in the press release.
“I’m excited about this opportunity to build community with such a dynamic and visionary team,” he said.
He is on the board of directors of Leadership Pioneer Valley, United Way of Hampshire County, and the Amherst Business Improvement District.
Maroulis worked in the University of Massachusetts’ Chancellor’s office since 2014
Prior to that, from 2008 to 2014, he was Executive Director at Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce.
